White Sands Camp is situated on the banks of the Kavango River, only 7 km away from the Buffalo core area of the Bwabwata National Park. The camp is the perfect location from which to view the Popa Falls - a series of rapids where the river cascades downwards on its journey to the Okavango Delta in neighboring Botswana.
The camp is surrounded by trees and shrubs, and is an ideal location for spotting crocodiles, hippos, and a myriad of bird species.
The luxury campsites are located on a grass-covered area at the river front and have their own thatched kitchen area, a wooden deck and braai area overlooking the river, power points, a sink and running water. All campsites have private ablution facilities.
In addition, 5 chalets are on offer, each with its own deck from which to take in the surrounding views. There is a shop with meat, wood, ice and other necessities. Breakfast and dinner can be enjoyed at the sundowner deck.
Activities include sunset cruises and fishing trips on the Kavango, game drives, bird watching, Popa Falls views and visits to the near-by San Living Museum. At the camp, San guides are available to give educational tours of the surrounding fauna and flora, as well as to explain their tradition and culture.
